19 young persons in Bihać to get their first employment

19 young persons will get their first employment in Bihać thanks to the contract signed with representatives of 9 companies within the “Programme for employment of young people without work experience 400 +". This activity, conducted in cooperation of Bihać Municipality, MDG-F Youth Employability and Retention Programme and Employment Agency of Una-Sana Canton aims to increase opportunities for youth employment.

Speaking about the importance of signing this contract, Albin Muslić, Bihać Mayor, said that each new job is an important message of optimism in today's complex economic situation. According to him, every young man who gets a job in Bihać, makes a big step and contributes to a better tomorrow for all the citizens.

According to Ramo Sulić, Director of Employment Agency of Una-Sana Canton agreements signed with companies, institutions and organizations will provided jobs on the basis of co-financing for the 6-12 months period. New employees will be given the opportunity to acquire skills and work experience that will help them further in life.

The Youth Employability and Retention Programme (YERP) is supported through the Millennium Development Goals Fund, and financed by the Government of the Kingdom of Spain. The programme is jointly implemented by IOM, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF and UNV, in partnership with the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, the BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, entity Ministries of Labor and Education, the BiH Agency for Statistics, respective entity offices of statistics, employment offices across the country, non-vocational primary and secondary schools, municipalities and rural communities, individual enterprises and associations from the private sector and civil society organizations from the community level to the diaspora.
