B-H Encounters on Youth Activism

“B-H encounters on youth activism: From the idea to action for development of youth key competencies” took place in Sarajevo on 20th and 21st of December 2010 as a part of cooperation between MDG-F YERP programme and Youth Information Agency BH (OIA).

The project which is implemented in 50 secondary schools in 17 towns in BiH promotes creation of modules through which secondary school students recognize the importance of development of life skills and key competencies.

 

Several panel discussions on education, labor market and development of key competencies were held with participation of mini teams consisted of students and their mentors MDG-F YERP representatives and representatives of institutions and organizations focused on labor market, employment and entrepreneurship.

 

Students had opportunity to develop their competencies such are: entrepreneurship competencies, presentation competencies, language competencies, mathematics, informatics, social and civil competencies, creativity etc.

 

Encounters finished with the best mini project ideas proclamation.

 

The Youth Employability and Retention Programme (YERP) is supported through the Millennium Development Goals Fund, and financed by the Government of the Kingdom of Spain. The programme is jointly implemented by IOM, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF and UNV, in partnership with the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs, the BiH Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees, entity Ministries of Labor and Education, the BiH Agency for Statistics, respective entity offices of statistics, employment offices across the country, non-vocational primary and secondary schools, municipalities and rural communities, individual enterprises and associations from the private sector and civil society organizations from the community level to the diaspora.
