Energy Efficiency and Water Management Seminar Held

December 8th, 2010 The two-day seminar Energy Efficiency and Water Management organized by the UNDP Regional Knowledge Hub and hosted by MDG-F Programme Democratic Economic Governance of Water Access: Securing Access to Water through Institutional Development and Infrastructure, was held in Sarajevo on December 2 and 3, 2010.

The “Energy Efficiency and Water Management in Municipal Infrastructure Sector: From Single Experiences to Systematic Regional Approach” seminar gathered UNDP programme officers, project managers and other UNDP senior management staff. Main focus was on strengthening support to local authorities from South East Europe based on peer-to-peer exchange of experience and knowledge in the area of service delivery between UNDP country offices in the region. In addition to that, seminar’s goal is to increase cross-sharing and learning on innovative interventions, challenges and successes across the region, as well supporting the regional knowledge hub by sharing lessons learnt and experiences in implementation of programmes in the Western Balkans countries.

One of conclusions of the seminar of the was that MDG-F Programme Democratic Economic Governance of Water Access successfully  incorporates best practices and experience in this field, for the greater benefit of residents of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
