Culture management educational trainings for 15 public cultural institutions completed

10/1/2011 Fundraising from European fonds for culture was the main topic of training for employees of a total of 15 cultural institutions: museums, theaters, offices for the protection of cultural heritage, libraries, film archives, as well as non-governmental organizations in the Federation BiH and Republika Srpska.

Training for staff institutions in the field of culture, which were suggested by the entity ministries responsible for Culture, were held at the begining of September in Banja Luka and Sarajevo as a part of the MDGF program Culture for development.


As a part of the capacity analysis of ten institutions in the area of culture (theaters, museums, NGOs, etc.) that was conducted as a part of the MDGF program in cooperation with PAC Multimedia (Center for performing arts Multimedia) from Macedonia, in partnership with Akcija Sarajevo organization from Bosnia and Herzegovina, needs for educating the staff from institutions of strategic planning, fund raising, attracting new users, as well as development of human resources, were noted.


That was the main reason of organising the training about fund raising from European fonds for culture and strategic planning in culture that was led by trainers with academical experience and in the work of committees for selection of best projects  for financing at the European level. The conclusion of the training was the existence of the needs of public institutions in the area of culture for strategic planning as well as diversification the resources of funding, also the need for developing national and international partnerships in the development of new programs and access to funds that are financing projects in the area of culture.


The Programme Culture for Development is a three-year programme funded by the Spanish Millennium Development Goals Achievement Fund which is being implemented in partnership with three UN Agencies: UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO, in cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, Ministry of Culture and Sports of FBiH, Ministry of Education and Culture of RS, as well as other institutions working in the area of education and culture.
