RS Library in Banja Luka Enables Access to Persons with Disabilities

The mobile escalator which enables access to persons with disabilities to the Peoples and University Library has been officially presented today in Banja Luka.

The MDG-F Programme Culture for Development provided five mobile escalators for Banja Luka Library, Herzegovina Museum in Trebinje, Prijedor Theater, Tuzla Gallery of Portraits, Mostar Theater and Natural Museum in Sarajevo, in cooperation with the designated ministries.


All five institutions received mobile escalators and chairs which enable access for persons with disabilities. The information tables with instruction on how to use the escalators are placed in front of each of the five culture institutions.


The Programme Culture for Development is a three-year programme funded by the Spanish Millennium Development Goals Achievement Fund which is being implemented in partnership of three UN Agencies: UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO, in cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH, Ministry of Culture and Sports of FBiH, Ministry of Education and Culture of RS, as well as other institutions working in the area of education and culture.
