Joint Programmes
The UNCT in BiH is currently implementing 5 joint programmes (4 MDG-F and the UNAIDS programme)
The UNCT in BiH was awarded four Joint UN Programmes funded by the Millennium Development Goals Achievement Fund (MDG-F) in the areas of:

Environment (implemented by UNDP, UNEP, UNESCO, UNV and FAO),
-
Economic governance of water management (implemented by UNDP and UNICEF),
-
Culture and development (implemented by UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO), and
-
Youth-employment-migration (implemented by UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNV and IOM)
Overall value of these four programmes is US$ 26 million.

UNAIDS
United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS is an innovative United Nations partnership that leads and inspires the world in achieving universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support.
UNAIDS' Vision is:
Zero new HIV infections, Zero dis
crimination and Zero AIDS-related deaths.
The UNAIDS strategy aims to advance global progress in achieving country set targets for universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support and to halt and reverse the spread of HIV and contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development goals by 2015.
UNAIDS fulfills its mission by:

Uniting the efforts of the UN system, civil society, governments, global institutions and PLHIV

Supporting the people most affected by HIV in defense of human dignity, human rights and gender equality

Mobilizing political, technical, scientific and financial resources and holding ourselves and others accountable for results

Empowering agents of change with strategic information and evidence to influence and ensure resources are targeted to deliver the impact and bring about a prevention revolution

Supporting inclusive leadership for sustainable responses integral to and integrated with national health and development efforts
UNAIDS strategy goals by 2015:

Sexual transmission of HIV reduced by half among young people, MSM, SW and IDU
-
Vertical transmission of HIV eliminated and maternal mortality reduced by half
-
New HIV infections prevented among people who use drugs
Universal access to ART for PLHIV who are eligible for treatment -
TB deaths among PLHIV reduced by half
-
PLHIV addressed in social protection strategies and have access to care and support
-
Countries with punitive laws on HIV transmission, sex work, drug use or homosexuality that block effective responses reduced by half
-
HIV restrictions on entry, stay and residence eliminated in half of the countries that have such restrictions
-
HIV-specific needs of women are addressed in at least half of all national HIV responses
-
Zero tolerance for gender-based violence
